Diego Update
Let's see.....what has Diego been up to these days? Well, first and foremost, we have the MOST wonderful nanny in the world now working for us when Lauren needs to work. Her name is Marcela, and she is from Paraguay. She has a husband who works at Duke named Agusto, and two daughters - Ami (2 mo.) and Jahnie (3 yr.). Diego LOVES playing with his new friends here at the house, and Marcela is really a gem. She speaks Spanish, which is great for Diego and good practice for me! He seems to love the change from daycare to staying home with Marcela. And his Spanish is growing by many words since her arrival - his favorite is "agua."
Diego also likes to climb and jump. His latest feat is off our living room coffee table. He is so proud of himself. He also goes down the big kid slides all by himself at the park now, and plays independently quite well. He also enjoys going down his slide right into his kiddie pool, and can spend hours splashing around in the pool in the afternoons.
And he's talking, talking, talking. Putting two words together (bye-bye Papa, cat eat). Copying everything we say. Every day is a new word, a new adventure.
Diego and Lauren leave on Friday for a 3 week journey to California, then Atlanta, and back. Lauren has one week of work in San Diego, and then our Herf family (Christian gets to come, too!) is taking a week vacation with the Dagman family to Lake Shasta for some houseboat and waterskiing fun. Back to Atlanta for work the week after that. A good adventure!
