Diego on the Harley

Greetings from Seattle! I know we've been absent for a while, and many of you have been begging us to post something new. We have been very busy - Lauren traveling and Christian starting his ID fellowship. Today is a sunny, warm day in Seattle, and I am just about to post a photo of Diego riding our neighbors' Harley. Our neighbors, Tony and Gary, are so kind to Diego, and Diego has really taken a liking to them both. When I chase him around the parking area to get into the car, if Gary is around, Diego runs into his arms for protection. So cute! The neighborhood hosted a wonderful welcome BBQ for us on Sunday afternoon, and we had a chance to meet some of our new neighbors. One family across the street has a 4 year old son, Baker. He and Diego got along very well, and spent most of the evening running around the house, slipping through the doggie door to outside, and around again! We feel very blessed to be surrounded by such nice people!

The house is slowly shaping up. Boxes are getting unpacked, and our living room furniture has arrived. We have one very unfinished room, which has taken on the role as being our catch up room. We put stuff there that doesn't yet have a place. We don't think things on the walls yet, as we haven't had time to make those decisions, you know about where holes will go in the wall! Christian has been so busy since we got home on Friday, working on a big case presentation he will give today. We have visitors coming for the next couple of weeks, so I am hopeful to spend Wednesday and Thursday getting the house ready for them!

All in all, we are so very, very happy here in Seattle. The weather has been gorgeous, and we are certainly not missing the heat and humidity of the south! We miss our NC friends and Auntie Leslie dearly, and we are hopeful they will come out to visit us!

No other new news to report....it's been a busy summer of traveling for AVID Summer Institute and fun weekend trips with family and friends. Diego met a new friend from Guatemala (Maximo) and we got to visit with new baby Stephen Cota and his sisters, plus some other new friends (Eva, Vova, Scarlett, and Indiana). We are anxiously awaiting news about baby Morse....Erika and Ryan's baby who should be born today or tomorrow. And we have LOVED getting to know Baby Sadie, Tracey and Shane's new baby born on July 8. It has been a whirlwind summer, obviously filled with many new babies and friends!
