Big Changes in Our Little Girl

She's almost 4 months old and so many changes have taken place! She's nearly sitting on her own without tipping over and will even stand with some guidance on a table. She has her first rice cereal and enjoys it thoroughly! She has been "sleep trained" during the day, which means she goes to bed unswaddled without her paci and falls asleep on her own after only minutes of fussing....no hysterical crying! She rolls from front to back and back to front (we often now find her on her tummy after she's fallen asleep). And she loves sitting in her exersaucer, playing with all the fun toys! Seriously, how does so much happen in such a short time. I feel like I'm losing my baby already!
Uncle Erik and Aba visited last week. Since our nanny was on vacation last week, my mom came up to take care of the kiddos while we both worked and studied. Christian has his medicine boards coming up this week, and I have my first two workshops at the end of the week. Erik had the weekend free, so he flew up Thursday, and they both left this morning. We are all very sad and miss them so much. Luckily, Auntie Leslie and her beau Mich are arriving Friday! Always a full house and we love it! If YOU have visited yet and you are reading this, consider yourself invited and come visit soon! Our beautiful weather is leaving us soon....today in fact it rained so hard we were reminded of Africa!

Not Yet Sure of My New Swing

Auntie Tracey dropped by my new swing the other day. I'm not yet sure of this new apparatus....check out my serious facial expression. My aba and Uncle Erik are coming to visit me this week! Yay!

Summer Stories from San Diego

At the end of July through August 8, the Ramers family traveled to San Diego for the annual AVID Summer Institute. Lauren worked as a staff developer, her 7th year, and the kiddos hung out with Christian. They took trips to all of our favorite San Diego spots, eating breakfast at The Mission, playing at Mission Bay and the beach, splashing in the pool, and enjoying Shamu shows at Sea World. Afternoons and evenings were spent visiting wonderful friends who often hosted us for dinner. Diego had an especially good time playing with his San Diego amigos, Hayden, Katie and Abby, Maya and Zoe, Maximo, and Charlie. We spent a lovely weekend at Coronado's Silver Strand, indulging in margaritas and fish tacos at Miguel's, and lazy hours by the pool with AVID friends. All in all it was a REALLY fun two weeks, but we are still very exhausted from living in a small hotel room for 12 nights! Now we are back to work and school. Christian is moonlighting before he begins his master's program in global health in September. I am doing some computer work from home for AVID before school starts in Bellevue. It felt GREAT to be back at work, but the organization it takes to get ready to leave with two kids is much more challenging.
