The World of Diego
These days Diego has really grown up! We have seen such a dramatic change in him since last summer and fall. He is fully toilet trained (and refuses our help when we offer, except to button his pants when he's done). He washes his hands, brushes his teeth, gets dressed and undressed on his own....he cleans up his toys sometimes....and is very sure about what he wants to eat and doesn't want to eat. He can play now for an hour or more with his cars and stuffed animals, making up imaginative stories and voices and scenes. He still loves to be read to, but now more often than not, chooses to sit in his room and look through his books over playing with his toys. His new challenge is picking NEW books to read for nap and nighttime. We are geting tired of reading the same book over and over and over and over. So, we are trying to get him to pick at least one new book each night. Last night he chose all books in Spanish. Luckily papa is the nighttime book reader. I sit in and we prepare for bed "like a family" as Diego puts it. The three of us (nearly four) can barely squeeze on his twin bed with my big belly and all of his stuffed animals.
Last week, I spent my last week away working for AVID Center in Mesa, AZ. Diego stayed here in Seattle with his Grammy, Christian's mother. They played, ate, and had a marvelous time! He now has several new songs that he sings and dances to. This next week I am home for winter break, and we will go visit Aba and Abo and Uncle Erik in Yreka for a few days over a long weekend.
Here are some recent photos his Grammy took of him. Enjoy! He's growing up so fast, and he's in such a cute stage right now, I just want to arrest time! Unfortunately, my growing belly reminds me that time is flying by! I don't really feel like 9 months is a very long time anymore!
