Pool Time Fun

Charley loves to splish splash with her brother!

Diego rests for a poolside pose.

Summer's here, baby girl!

Popsicle fun!

May has been glorious! 80's and sunny! Our deck is very beautiful, and we just got the kids a pool to splash around in....so, here are some pics from that! Life is otherwise busy. May was a lot of work, some play, but mostly just work. We are trying to enjoy the beautiful May days, knowing that June may not be as nice to us....no one can ever predict June.

Christian finishes his classes in two weeks and then heads to Mozambique for a month. Kids and I will be here in Seattle, Dallas, Sacramento, and San Diego. Then, I start school in July. Enjoy the pics - the kids are growing up so fast - don't blink!

Good News All Around

Christian just received his official appointment at the University of Washington as "Acting Instructor," a 12 month contract. Whoo Hoo! And a significant salary increase...FINALLY! It has been 10 years coming since Medical School at UCSD. We are all so happy and proud of him! He'll be working for I-Tech (Mozambique travels) and doing some local HIV clinics in the state of Washington. He'll also be giving lectures in his "clinician-teacher" role.
Charley is walking....pretty much all over the house now. It came slowly, as she's been cruising since Feb. but she's taking many confident steps now that I can officially announce, "We have a Walker!"
Diego is officially bored to death by being home this whole week. No school. He was very excited when we told him he got to go to school every day next year. And the funniest thing happened tonight at dinner. We were talking about different colors, and we first asked him what color his skin was. He replied, "brown." When we asked him what color my skin was, he replied, "grey." Hmmm....chuckle....chuckle. Then, we asked him why he thought we had different skin colors. He VERY quickly replied, "I don't know mom. Why do you think I have different colored socks?" Did he really just answer my question with a rhetorical question? Seriously....who is this kid, anyways?
And last, I am shadowing schools around town for my upcoming year, and I discovered a wonderful little international elementary school that I'm in love with. Immersion Spanish and Chinese for kindergarten through 5th grade. Open classroom design. Inspiring principal. The United Nations of students. Wonderful.
