Diego loves helping out with bathtime. Charlotte loves her brother, and her baths!Diego didn't watch TV until he was two. I can guarantee that won't be the case for Charley. Look at how intently focused she is on the TV screen at 3 months!!

Week 11 was a tough one. I hurt my back on Monday and could barely lift poor Charlotte off the couch. Luckily my chiropractor had a morning appointment available and with enough ibuprofen and ice on board, I made a near full recovery by Friday. Today I even swam!

We have one week left before our big trip to San Diego, so I'm off to run errands while both kids are sleeping. Don't worry...Christian is here taking care of them.

10 Weeks Happy

Here's her ten week photo....Charley's eyes can focus on things in front of her now, and she's finally entertained by her bouncy chair toys and her play mat. She also likes laying down in the living room crib and looking out the window at the trees and the shadows the sun makes on our deck. She's more content to lay by herself now, which means I get a few minutes without baby in arms. We have moved her into the office/guest room/crib room and she is napping and sleeping in her new crib now. No more bassinet. It's getting ready for our friend Baby Ellis who will arrive at the end of August.

Today we met a friend and walked around SummerFest in West Seattle. Just a regular old street fair, but it was beautiful!! And West Side Baby, a nonprofit organization, had set up some nursing chairs and a changing table for moms and babies...what a nice touch! Only in Seattle....We have two weeks of enjoying the sun before heading down to San Diego where I will be back to work at the AVID Summer Institute. The whole family is traveling, and we're excited to see all of our So Cal friends and family!

Best Buddies

My best friend, Kelly Todd Robinson, and her 7 month old daughter, Madeleine visited us these past three days. We visited Pike's Market twice, ate delicious crab and salmon, enjoyed wine on our back deck in the sun, played with the kids, and watched the finale of the Bachelorette....it was a perfect week in our minds! The girls got matching Seattle Sweet Pea T-shirts. Couldn't you just eat these kids up?

Wedding Pics

Saturday was my cousin Jon Herfindahl's wedding in the city of Mt. Shasta. With the backdrop of the majestic mountain and mild July temperatures, the day could not have been more perfect for an outdoor wedding. Diego did a great job as ring bearer. He walked down the aisle, didn't drop the fake rings on the pillow, and stood stoicly in his place until he was dismissed. He's an A+ ring bearer for anyone who may need one in the future. Charley was an angel throughout the whole day, napping and charming everyone with her sweet nature and smiles. The wedding was beautiful, and my cousin Jon and his new wife Mary are very, very happy and in love. Cute! We return to Seattle tomorrow, before the heat down here rises into the 100s and will meet my friend Kelly and her daughter Maddie at the airport. We are so excited for their visit! Enjoy the photos!
